The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) created the “Unpaid is Unfair” campaign, by Zulu Alpha Kilo, to highlight the plight of a person who takes on the role of the unpaid intern. In six videos, an intern goes through a day in her life, trying to pay for coffee or groceries using items such as her employer-issued bus pass or thank you card from her workplace – with no success. The campaign included a series of posters, in the format of receipts with cheeky jabs at employers, and a contest featuring swag that was mentioned in the videos and which the winner could convert into money.
